The Belgian EV Charging Gap
Belgium's EV adoption is accelerating, but charging infrastructure isn't keeping up
PowerCourier bridges this gap by deploying mobile charging where and when it's needed β without the β¬50,000-200,000 infrastructure investment per building. One PowerCourier unit serves multiple locations daily, achieving 3-5x higher utilization than fixed chargers.
Environmental Impact
π± Grid-Friendly Charging
PowerCourier units charge from the grid during off-peak hours (typically 22:00-06:00) when electricity is cheapest and often comes from renewable sources. They then deliver that stored energy during the day. This load-shifting reduces peak grid demand and increases effective renewable energy utilization.
β»οΈ Lifecycle Advantage
Mobile charging reduces the need for fixed infrastructure β less concrete, copper, and steel. Our LFP battery chemistry offers 4,000+ charge cycles and is fully recyclable. By keeping charger utilization high (>60% vs <15% for many fixed chargers), each unit displaces more fossil fuel consumption per invested euro.
Frequently Asked Questions
How fast can PowerCourier charge my EV?
Our units deliver up to 150 kW DC fast charging. A typical EV with a 60 kWh battery can go from 20% to 80% in approximately 25-35 minutes, depending on the vehicle's maximum charge rate. Even at 50 kW, you'll add roughly 200 km of range in 30 minutes.
How much does PowerCourier charging cost?
Our pricing is transparent: β¬0.45/kWh plus a β¬4.99 service fee per session. A typical 50 kWh charge costs β¬27.49. This is competitive with public fast chargers (β¬0.50-0.79/kWh) and significantly cheaper than roadside emergency charging services.
Can PowerCourier units enter underground parking?
Yes. Our compact mobile units are designed to navigate standard parking garage dimensions, including height-restricted levels (minimum 2.0m clearance). This is a key advantage β underground parking is where charging infrastructure is most needed and most expensive to install.
What area does PowerCourier cover?
Our pilot service covers the Brussels-Capital Region with average response times under 15 minutes. We're expanding to Antwerp and Ghent in 2026, with plans for Liège, Charleroi, and cross-border coverage (Lille, Eindhoven, Luxembourg City) in 2027.
Can businesses integrate PowerCourier as an employee benefit?
Absolutely. We offer B2B service agreements where employers provide EV charging as a benefit β zero infrastructure investment, usage-based billing or flat monthly rates. This is especially attractive for Brussels office buildings where installing fixed chargers is impractical or prohibitively expensive.
Is PowerCourier compatible with all electric vehicles?
Yes. We support CCS2 (the European DC fast charging standard used by Tesla, VW, BMW, Mercedes, Hyundai, etc.) and CHAdeMO (used by Nissan Leaf and some older models). This covers virtually all electric vehicles sold in Europe.
